The successful candidate will be the technical lead and primary hardware developer responsible for the design of both RF Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) as well as Radar Target Simulator systems. The position holds the primary responsibility for performing systems engineering activities on complex designs throughout all phases of project development.
Major Responsibilities:
Take customer defined requirements and specifications and translate to system specifications and provide any analysis required to justify the system design
Convert system specifications into sub-system definitions
Work closely with the RF, Digital, Software, and Mechanical groups to define sub-system requirements
Create detailed drawings and documents that clearly define the responsibilities of each team member while ensuring requirement compliance. Work with the customer to develop a test plan that verifies each of the system requirements.
Develop, create, and lead presentations for both internal and customer reviews
Integrate and verify the system through lab tests and/or actual operation in the field
Train and/or demonstrate system capabilities to the customers
Represent company as a customer contact regarding technical matters
BSEE and 7+ years experience as an engineer in a design capacity,
MSEE preferred. 1+ years as a Product Team lead or equivalent responsible engineering lead experience
Good communication skills both written and verbal; must be able to communicate complex technical issues to a variety of audiences
Firm understanding of RF transmitter/receiver design at UHF to microwave frequencies
Working experience with standard RF measurement devices such as power meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Radar hardware or radar systems design experience and analysis
Working knowledge of radar fundamentals such as the range equation, Doppler effect and range delay. MATLAB programming experience.
Experience with RF modulation schemes, communications theory, sampling theory and DSP implementation (FFT, FIR, IIR digital modulation).
Experience and working knowledge of A/D-D/A conversion techniques.
Software design experience using C/C++, object oriented design, GUI development and Visual C++ experience.
Working knowledge of Ethernet, Mil-Std 1553, RS 232/422, VME, FPGA and VxWorks.
