Technical staffing skills is a claim many make but few are experts at. To be really good at technical staffing you need to be extremely focused. In addition you need to have the time, the tools and the know how to come up with outstanding candidates that are not easily identifiable.

For this reason companies are willing to pay thousands of dollars to identify the right fit for their technical requirements. The downside is if they do not identify qualified candidates within a certain period of time they are destined to lose even more money than what they pay for the services of a technical staffing company.

Companies sometimes get bombarded with phone calls from technical staffing agencies claiming to offer the best and most qualified candidates in the market place. Yet, not every technical staffing firm actually follows through with stellar candidates. A company can waist a tremendous amount of time sifting through resumes from staffing agencies that claim they are great at what they do. Therefore, they tend to use a selected few to help supplement their staffing needs.

So how do you identify a good technical staffing company? For starters make sure you are working with someone who presents as extremely smart and focused from the get go. It is usually a sales person that you are working with who represents the agency. So make sure they are easy to talk to, smart, quick, fast, have excellent communication skills, and strong follow through. Also, make sure that they work for a reputable agency. And, it is always nice to work with someone who is close in proximity to your company so you can meet with them in person if necessary.

Next, make sure they are sending you strong well qualified candidates from the beginning. You do not want to work with time wasters, and you should be able to indentify a person to hire within review of the first 4 – 5 resumes provided by your technical staffing company.
