CAREER HISTORY:

2001 to 12/2007: Company A

Standardisation Specialist (2001-12/2007) representing the companies Networks/NSN at standardisation meetings, contributing to the GSM/GPRS protocol specifications.

Achievements:

1.    Actively contribute and influence the international standard and specification making process and become one of the most active/knowledgeable delegates at GERAN2 protocol standardisation meetings.

2.    Provide consultancy/support to Design and Development teams on radio and core network protocol standardisation issues.

3.    Possess a profound knowledge of GSM/EDGE system/technology and some good knowledge of UMTS system/technology.

 

1997 to 2001: Company B

Principle Engineer/Consultant (1997-2001)representing the companies testing standardisation meetings, managing Type Approvals process for mobile phones.

Achievements:

1.    Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of the conformance testing specification for GSM/EDGE mobile phones at GERAN3 meetings.

2.    Provide consultancy/support to Design and Development teams on design issues to meet Type Approval requirements. The sole delegated consultant for the teams in regards to testing standardisation issues.

3.    Manage Type Approvals process and co-ordinate all testing activities. Support Product Management on regulatory issues on Type Approval and EMC.

 
1995 to 1997: Company C

Senior Approval Engineer/EMC Specialistresponsible for obtaining worldwide approvals for all Psion Products in accordance with EMC & Safety requirements.

Achievements:

1.    Research and possess a good knowledge of EMC design/testing techniques. Provide EMC design consultancy/support to Design and Development Engineers. Suggest the most cost effective solutions to EMC problems.

2.    Perform pre-compliance EMC testing. Manage, co-ordinate and execute approvals activities and test plans regarding EMC & Safety compliance.

3.    Participate and solve EMC problems of all existing Psion’s products at external test labs and obtain CE mark status according to plan.

4.    Produce documentation for EMC and Safety approval process. Familiarize with international standards regarding EMC & Safety Approvals, EMC test equipment/facilities.

 
1991 to 1995: Company D

Senior Design and Approval Engineer responsible for design co-ordination, obtaining European Type Approvals and providing design support for the OKI multifunctional product namely DOCIT system and OKIFAX machines.

Achievements:

1.    Co-ordinate, review and influence the design of Line Interface circuitry to ensure the product meet the European Type Approvals requirements.

2.    Participate and solve compliance testing problems at regulatory test labs and obtain Type Approvals for DOCIT system in 8 countries in Europe according to plan.

3.    Appointed by BABT to become an Approval Liaison Engineer.

4.    Produce documentation for European Type Approval process.

 
1987 to 1991: Company E

Development Engineer responsible for designing and developing LAN's products.

Achievements:

1.    Design and develop LAN controller cards for IBM compatible computers. Produce the test specification for production.

2.    Possess the expertise in digital design of Intel/Motorola microprocessor based products.

 
1982-1986:  University

Obtained an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Won the University Prize for the best student in Maths in the first year.
